On 16 March 2026, undergraduate students from the BSc in Sustainable and Green Finance (SGFN), BBA in Finance (FINA), and BSc in Quantitative Finance (QFIN) participated in a one‑day study trip to Macao to gain first‑hand insight into the Greater Bay Area (GBA)’s development.
The visit began at City University of Macau, where students toured the campus and explored the Sino‑Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation.
In the afternoon, students visited SJM Resorts, learning about the Facilities Management Training Centre and its award‑winning ESG initiative, the Wind Energy Recovery Power Generation System.
The trip concluded with an inspirational visit at the City University of Macau’s Faculty of Finance, featuring a warm welcome from the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Adrian Cheung, an HKUST alumnus, and a meaningful exchange between students from both universities — invaluable experiences that broadened students’ perspectives on Macao’s role in the GBA!
